County Filing Fees - Expungement

At Fresh Start Law Center we try to be as transparent as possible with our clients. We only charge you for the services you need, and try to save you money wherever we can. We know you work hard for your money and we take your trust in us very seriously.

1. Not All Counties Have Filing Fees:

Most other law firms that do expungements in California charge a "flat" rate on their expungement services, wherein the "flat" fee is almost always much higher than our prices. These other law firms justify the higher "flat" fee by stating that filing fees are included. However, what they are not telling you is that a filing fee is often not required in many of the counties, and thus you are paying a higher price for no reason. We do not feel this is fair to our clients, and believe honesty and complete transparency is important. For example: Los Angeles County charges a $120 filing fee for both misdemeanor and felony expungements, wherein Riverside County does not have a filing fee. Thus, it would not be fair to charge the same price for an expungement in these two counties.

2. You May Be Eligible To Have The Fee Waived:

Even if we are filing a expungement for you in a county that typically has a filing fee, your income level may make you eligible to file a fee waiver request with the court. If our fee waiver request is granted, then the court waives the filing fee in the case and we pass those savings on to you.
